Faith Formation & Evangelization
Brainerd Catholic Faith Formation provides a lively and faith-filled encounter with Christ through comprehensive education designed to instruct, inform, and guide intentional disciples within our mission field. From early childhood and elementary programs, through middle and high school faith formation to adult education, our variety of opportunities are tailored to bring you into a richer, more fulfilling life with Christ through Catholicism. Whether you’re a daily Mass goer, left the church years ago, or consider yourself unaffiliated and unchurched, so many searching souls have found a significant impact and sense of belonging uniting with the Brainerd Catholic Churches and community. Here, questions are answered, identity is found, and belief is restored.
Currently, the entire faith formation program as a whole (Elementary to Adult) has close to 800 participants spread across elementary (including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for early childhood and sacramental prep), middle school, high school, and adult faith formation such as FUSE and OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults).In aggregate, these programs are sustained by more than 50 adult volunteers, staff, and catechists regularly helping educate and equip the next generation of believers. Youth Faith Formation

Elementary (Pre-K-5th)
We have three elementary programs at our local parishes for families to choose from. There is also a once-a-month program for preschool and kindergarten at All Saints or St Francis.

Middle (6th-8th)
Students in grades 6-8 meet Wednesday evenings at St. Francis School in Brainerd. Students can come in early to play basketball, football, volleyball, or just hang out with friends in the gym and then at 7pm we will start our night!

High (9th-11th)
We seek to provide a dynamic and faith-filled encounter with Christ and a comprehensive education for high school youth preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. Classes are held most Wednesday Nights from late September-early May.
Adult Faith Formation
FUSE is a renewed faith formation avenue for adult education, aiding in both the evangelization and revitalization of faith in the Brainerd Catholic mission field and beyond. It’s a no-cost opportunity for any adult, whether Catholic or non-Catholic, to enjoy a free meal and dive deeper into Christ’s teachings. For people interested in what being Catholic really means, FUSE can serve as a helpful catalyst to our OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation) program. LEARN MORE HOW TO BECOME CATHOLIC. Sacramental Preparation

First Reconciliation
Preparation for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist is primarily for 2nd graders, but 3rd-4th grade students who have not received these sacraments may also attend this preparation. If you have children older than 4th grade, please contact the Faith Formation office and we can talk about our other options.

First Communion
Preparation for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist is primarily for 2nd graders, but 3rd-4th grade students who have not received these sacraments may also attend this preparation.

Confirmation
Confirmation Prep is a three-year high school program to prepare young people to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation as well as teaching them how to live out fully the grace that comes with the Sacrament.

Becoming Catholic
FUSE is for any adult in the Brainerd Lakes area who desires to dive deeper into the faith and learn more about what our faith really means. FUSE is engaging, truthful, exciting, and at times even surprising!
